“The first step toward change is acceptance. Once you accept yourself, you open the door to change. That’s all you have to do. Change is not something you do, it’s something you allow.” Will Garcia
Our mission is simple: we want to make a real and positive difference to the face and heart of school leadership.
We’re already taking some big steps towards achieving our goal by helping to nurture diverse leaders, and by giving those leaders the skills, awareness and confidence to embrace difference and work in ways that deliver excellence for all.
A quick look at our backgrounds shows we’re passionate about fairness, equality and diversity. We’re also committed to training, educating and supporting leaders who will deliver these qualities by leading differently. The end result is communities whose needs are met, and lives that are changed forever.
We begin our journey by challenging current thinking around school leadership in order to bring about system change. To really make a difference we’ve made the following goals the objective of our day-to-day work:
- To work closely and effectively with individuals, business and organisations
- To create an Indigo Diversity Friends group that supports and inspires
- To win hearts and minds by sharing experience from successful leaders
- To think and act differently, using independent thinking to achieve greater results
- To share culturally diverse leadership paradigms and develop them with individuals
- To work together in order to leave a legacy
We’re about inspiring everyone that works with schools and in schools, to do the things that they love so that we can change a bit of our world for our children.
Why work with Indigo Diversity?
We know that less than 3% of school leaders are from ethnic minority backgrounds. We also know that this does little to reflect our communities and that the situation must change.
At Indigo Diversity we’ve got the unique mix of insight, skills and resources necessary to tackle this issue in ways that only a specialist consultancy can. Our backgrounds reflect our passion for our subject, and they’ve also given us the ability to understand this complex area of work as well as the expertise to address it.
Of course we’re highly motivated and committed to making a difference. But what really sets us apart is the way we’re able to identify opportunities and then inspire and facilitate change in the individuals, businesses and organisations we work with. Innovative and forward thinking, we’ve developed our own approach to doing things because we’ve seen first-hand how more conventional ways have fallen short. Today, our approach is helping to pave the way to a brighter and more diverse future for us all.
